Miranda Lambert Shares Special On Stage Moment With Her Dad

It was a night to honor some of Nashville's hottest songwriters and their collaborations with Miranda Lambert on her critically acclaimed, platinum-selling double album, The Weight of These Wings.

As part of the "Front and Center" CMA Songwriter Series, Lambert invited her co-writers—including Liz Rose, Natalie Hemby, Jon Randall, Jack Ingram and Shane McAnally,—to join her on stage to share the stories behind their songs, as well as acoustic performances of the tracks on her album.

While the night was filled with many highlights, the sweetest moment came when the "Vice" singer invited her dad, Rick Lambert, to join her on stage for a performance.

Miranda Lambert is Personally Helping Rescue Dogs from Hurricane Harvey (With Her MuttNation Foundation)

Just days after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston and surrounding areas, Miranda Lambert's MuttNation announced they were heading to South Texas to help evacuate displaced dogs. And Lambert is actually there, in person, helping rescue these animals.

Currently, Lambert is in Conroe, Texas with her team, where they have already rescued 72 dogs, but as Lambert shared in her Instagram Story, "there are so many more."

Lambert isn't only helping transport the animals, she's providing shelter in her bus. A dog gave birth after being rescued and Lambert took in her and her new puppies. And yes, she named the dog after a country music icon, per the usual. This one is super special and named after Lambert's BFF, Ashley Monroe.

3 Items Miranda Lambert Won't Travel Without (and I Don't Either)

Miranda Lambert isn't just one of the greatest country music artists ever-- she's also the most relatable.

In a recent interview with Billboard, she was asked what three items are most essential to her when traveling. Her answer was not shocking-- Tito's Vodka, Tito's Vodka and her dogs.

Miranda Lambert's Road Trip Recipe Success:

  • 2 parts Tito's Vodka
  • 1 Part Dogs

Note: Miranda often has someone drive her on the road, so it's much easier for her to travel with the vodka.
