If you have not heard about newcomer Abby Anderson, you are going to want to pay attention. Recently named as one of CMT’s 2018 Next Women of Country, Abby brought the house down with her soulful vocals Thursday night (May 17) at The Well Coffeehouse in Nashville.
As part of The Well Series, created by Black River Entertainment to allow the audience to get to know an artist beyond their music, Abby treated the crowd to a 5-song set and an informative Q&A.
“I grew up in a musical home”, she revealed.”My mom is an amazing singer, she plays guitar. My dad is a business man but he plays piano. I grew up singing in church with my sisters. I was blessed to grow up in a loving supportive home.”
After performing her debut single “Make Him Wait,” and answering a few questions from the crowd, the Texas native got a special surprise when an unusual phone call came through during her set. The call was from Brett Eldredge’s manager, Rob Baker.
“Brett would be calling you but he’s overseas and it’s after midnight there,” Rob said. “He would love, and we would love for you to join Brett on his tour this fall.”
Abby was so surprised and shocked, all she could say was thank you. She forget to accept the invitation, before her label president, Gordon Kerr, asked if that was a yes.
“Yes,” she yelled. “I’m going on tour with Brett Eldredge ya’ll.”
Abby will join new artist Devin Dawson for the fall leg of Brett’s The Long Way Tour, which kicks off September 13 in Denver.
