Ashley McBryde is bringing an “American Scandal” to late night, but not the kind of scandal you think. The Arkansas native is singing about love in the new track from her critically acclaimed debut album, Girl Going Nowhere.

Decked out in her signature T-shirt, boots and jeans, Ashley was backed by a full band as she belted out the rockin’ tune. The 34-year old’s strong vocals took center stage, making the audience feels as if she were the only one in the room. In the song, Ashley she sings about exhibiting true love no matter who’s watching.

“Hold me baby, hold me like you ain’t mine to hold / Oh kiss me baby, kiss me, like you don’t care who knows / Oh love me baby, love me like Kennedy and Monroe / Don’t tell me the world couldn’t handle / A good old-fashioned American scandal,” she sings in the chorus.

Excited about the performance, Ashley took to Instagram to share her thoughts about hitting the late night stage.

“We played The Tonight Show last night and it was a blast! Thanks for having us, @fallontonight!,” Ashley wrote.

The “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega” singer will be hitting the road for her headlining The Girl Going Nowhere Tour, which kicks off on Sept. 5 in Atlanta.
