While country artists can do a lot, they can’t beat the dastardly little flu bug. First, Willie Nelson was knocked out by the bug, followed Kelsea Ballerini. Now, Blake Shelton has taken ill.

Blake took to social media to let fans know that his Saturday night show (March 3) had to be cancelled, due to the dreaded flu.

“Friends, I have been battling the flu the last few days and today it has gotten the best of me.” I rarely have to postpone a show and I apologize to everyone who had their Saturday night plans to spend it with me and the other Freaks on the Country Music Freaks Tour.”

The concert, taking place at CenturyLink Center in Bossier City, La. on March 3, was rescheduled for Tuesday, March 6. We hope Blake will be feeling better by then. Fans were assured that Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and Trace Adkins will also be scheduled to perform on Tuesday.

But even under the weather, Blake comes through for his fans. “Hopefully everyone can join us on Tuesday night and I promise to make up for the inconvenience! Stay well!” he wrote.

The 41-year-old singer has been battling the flu for a few days now. He somehow muscled through his show Friday night (March 2) during the Houston Rodeo. According to, Blake told the crowd he was “at the peak of having the damn flu right now at this show. I apologize if I sound like crap.” The flu apparently got the best of the Oklahoma native and he had to cancel the show.

Blake’s team posted a message for those who will not be able to make the rescheduled date. “Current ticket holders that cannot attend the rescheduled show will be able to receive a full refund for their ticket(s).”

We’re hoping Blake makes a speedy recovery. Get well soon.
