Plaques, medallions and “thank you” speeches were flying in all different directions, in what could go down as the busiest No. 1 party in history.
Blake Shelton and a string of co-writers were celebrated for five consecutive No. 1 hit songs including, “Doin’ What She Likes,” “My Eyes” “Neon Light,” “Lonely Tonight” and “Sangria.” The tunes spent a total of 200 weeks (combined) on the country charts.
That is nearly 4 years of Blake Shelton on your radio.
Blake admitted he hasn’t been around his Nashville stomping grounds as much as he used to be, but he did thank all of the songwriters.
“I’m literally nothing, I don’t even exist, without these songwriters who write songs for me,” he said. “Thank you, Nashville. It is important to me to continue to look for the best songs.”
Blake is wrapping up a crazy week in Nashville. He celebrated his 5-year Grand Ole Opry anniversary and then played a free show for nearly 10,000 fans on Music Row.
