Blake Shelton is putting rumors to rest by letting the world know that people are “way off the mark” when speculating about the cryptic tweet he posted on Wednesday (April 25) .

Blake had the social media world a buzz when he tweeted about a certain person getting their Karma. “Been taking the high road for a long time.” he wrote. “I almost gave up. But I can finally see something on the horizon up there!! Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It’s karma!!”

Media and fans went crazy speculating that the Tweet was aimed a his ex-wife Miranda Lambert. However, Blake was chatting with “Entertainment Tonight” before the live airing of “The Voice” and he set the record about the Tweet heard round the world.

“If it was meant for people to know exactly what it meant, it wouldn’t have been so cryptic. Why would I say that?” Blake told ET “But I can tell you it’s been, actually, very entertaining to watch the world run with it and assume what they think it’s about.”

Of course, the Tweet came the day after news broke that his ex-wife Miranda Lambert was dating the lead singer of the Turnpike Troubadours, who was married and getting a divorce. Much of the speculation was caused by that timing.

When asked if Blake loved all the frenzy and speculation he caused, the superstar was not thrilled but simply amazed.

“I don’t love it,” he added. “It’s just funny. It’s amazing. People are way off the mark. But I don’t have time to worry about it. It’s a nightmare.”

Ahhh, social media.
