[Watch] Carly Pearce Delivers Stunning Cover of Dan + Shay’s “Tequila”

-

Carly Pearce is a frequent performer at the Grand Ole Opry and during a recent visit, the country singer took part in the famed venue’s Radio Replay segment where she covered Dan + Shay’s “Tequila.” Currently on tour with the duo and Rascal Flatts, she gushed about her tour mates’ recent multi-week No. 1 hit.

“On my way in tonight, I heard Dan + Shay’s ‘Tequila’ which is one of my favorite songs on the radio right now!” she raves ahead of singing the track.

Backed by an acoustic guitar player, Carly then gave her unique rendition of the song’s first verse and chorus. With delicate and smoky vocals, Carly’s performance did the song’s emotional lyrics justice. Making the song her own, it was evident that the singer was at ease singing the number herself. And, if Dan + Shay decide to add a third voice to the song throughout the tour, they’ll know who to ask.

Carly returns to the Opry stage tonight (July 11), as part of the venue’s summer lineup. She’ll join Chris Janson, Craig Morgan and Charles Esten from Nashville, among others, throughout the evening’s show. Last month, she celebrated her 50th Opry performance. The singer made her Opry debut in May 2015 and has been asked back to perform a remarkable 50 times.

While Carly’s tour mates have enjoyed a multi-week No. 1 at country radio with “Tequila,” her new single “Hide the Wine” is poised for similar success. The infectious song follows her first-ever chart topper, “Every Little Thing,” and only adds to the singer’s memorable 2018. Earlier this year, Carly took home her first two awards when she won the CMT Breakthrough Video of the Year Award and the Radio Disney Country Best New Artist trophy. Following her time on the road with Rascal Flatts this summer, Carly is set to join Luke Bryan on his What Makes You Country Tour.
