If you haven’t heard Carly Pearce’s “Every Little Thing” yet, you might not be doing things right. It’s easily one of the best songs of the year and Pearce is easily one of the best new female artists in the game.

In fact, Pearce is so talented, she took one of the biggest crossover hits ever recorded, Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5,” and totally made it a whole new thing. It was this poppy, fun, encouraging tune about the daily grind and now she’s made it this soulful, sultry, swampy jam.

If Parton’s version is about an office, Pearce’s version is possibly about someone who works outside of an office building. Maybe on a corner. Or maybe that town trollop Parton is always talking about.

And I mean all of that in the best way.
