Walking a red carpet is all in a days work for country artists, because strutting your stuff in front of a gaggle of reporters, photographers and fans is part of the job. But for Carly Pearce, her first time walking the ACM Awards red carpet was “terrifying.”
“Fun Fact. I was the first person on the red carpet,” Carly told One Country. “Somebody asked me who I was wearing and I looked them in the face and I was like, ‘I don’t know.’ I was terrified—so terrified. Just deer in the headlights. To think of the last year and where I’ve come, it’s crazy.”
A lot has changed over the past year. Not only has the red carpet turned blue, but Carly’s debut single, “Every Little Thing,” hit the No. 1 spot on the country charts, thrusting the 27-year-old into the spotlight. In addition, Carly finds herself on country’s biggest tours, including Blake Shelton’s Country Music Freaks Tour and Thomas Rhett’s Life Changes Tour.
“It’s everything I’ve ever wanted,” Carly adds.”I did not know all of this could come true in one year. I’m so thankful.”
Carly’s latest single “Hide the Wine,” is currently at No. 34 and rising on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
