Carrie Underwood will return to the show that launched her career, but this time she will be doling out advice to the contestants as a guest mentor, making her way back to “American Idol” on Sunday, May 13.

The remaining five contestants, Gabby Barrett, Cade Foehner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Maddie Poppe and Michael J. Woodard, will get mentored by the Idol as they take a trip to her hometown of Nashville. Later in the live show, the remaining five will be performing some of Carrie’s own songs.

Carrie herself will perform her current single “Cry Pretty,” the lead track from her upcoming album. In addition, Carrie will share the worldwide exclusive look at her new music video released Monday (May 7).

The 35-year-old began her career on “American Idol,” winning the fourth season in 2005. She has returned a couple of times to perform on the show, but this time her advice will be at the forefront.
