“The Voice” Blind Auditions continued Monday night (Oct. 1) as young hopefuls sang their hearts out in hopes that coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson and Adam Levine would turn their chairs.

One young contestant, Chevel Shepherd, not only got one chair to turn her way, but three coaches were inspired enough to hit their red button. Chevel, a 16-year-old from Farmington, New Mexico, performed her heart out, singing The Band Perry’s “If I Die Young,” eliciting Kelly to say her voice has a Dolly Parton feel to it.

Following Chevel’s performance, Kelly gave her best pitch to young lady, wanting her for Team Kelly. But when Blake simply said, “Hi Chevel,” the young contestant blushed, giggled and replied, “Hi Blake.”

With that, Kelly yelled, “Nooooo,” realizing that she lost Chevel to Blake just like that. Adam confirmed her thoughts by walking over to Blake and raising his hand in victory.

“I hate you,” Kelly screamed to Blake. “It’s alright y’all, I get it.”

After Kelly and Blake went back and forth, Chevel revealed she had something in common with Blake. “First of all I want to say that I share the same birthday with Blake,” Chevel revealed leading everyone to believe that Blake was a sure pick. Chevels parents even said that they believed she would pick Blake. With all signs pointing to a Team Blake victory, Chevel revealed her choice.

“I pick…Kelly!” What? The crowd, the coaches and her parents were shocked, but you can now add Chevel to Team Kelly.
