If there’s one thing we love as much as our favorite country artists, it’s our favorite country
artist’s families—the two-legged and the four-legged variety. So a lot of hearts were turned to goop when “Losing Sleep” singer, Chris Young, received a precious, cuddly, black and tan German Shepherd puppy for Christmas from his sister.

You might think that Chris had asked Santa Claus for a puppy and sister Dorothy got the scoop
from a helpful elf, and that may have been the case, but the country star confirms that his new
companion was still unexpected.

“He was a gift from my little sister for Christmas. He was a total surprise, I had no idea. And he’s been so awesome. I love that dog absolutely to death,” Chris told One Country,

Since the pup named Porter will become part of his talented pop’s touring crew, Chris decided
that traveling to his fishing tournament to benefit the TJ Martell Foundation during CMA Music
Fest was the perfect time for him to make his maiden voyage on the tour bus.

“I had him out with me this morning. I had him on the bus with me for the first time today,” Chris
explained. “It was to just kind of adjust him and be like, ‘Hey, this is new. Please don’t pee
everywhere.’ And he did good. He was a good boy.”

Like most celebrities, Porter does have his own Instagram account, but since the pup has now
proven himself roadworthy, it’s possible that fans may catch a glimpse of him in person when
Chris appears at fairs and festivals across the United States this summer.

Chris’ Losing Sleep World Tour also picks back up in September, so that might be another opportunity for Porter to make his stage debut.
