Danielle Bradbery’s return to music—after taking a break for four years—has yielded the female empowering anthem, “Worth It,” from her sophomore album I Don’t Believe We Met. The 21-year-old is adding to the power of the song with a graceful new video.
“This song was one of my favorite tracks on the album from the start, but it’s really taken on a life of its own since we released it,” said Danielle. “It’s been so great to hear my fans’ stories about how they identify with the message and I’m so proud of this visual element we created to continue telling the story.”
“Worth It,” written by Bradbery, Molly Reed and Jeff Pardo, has the Texas native relaying a powerful message about self worth. The song, about standing up to a boyfriend, who doesn’t necessarily treat her the way she needs to be treated, musically transports Danielle to the next level.
“’Cause I’m worth it / You’re crazy, baby, if you think that I don’t know it / I ain’t afraid to walk away / If you can’t see it, believe it / And give me the love I’m deserving / ‘Cause I know I’m worth it,” Danielle sings in the chorus.
Filmed at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, the video starts off with Danielle getting personal, talking about writing the song to help find her self worth. She enters the empthy theater listening to the music, only to envision herself performing on the main stage.
“I wrote this song because I needed reminding of my own self worth, she says,” kicking off the video. “In doing so it has become something so much bigger than just me. Music is about connection and it’s been so beautiful connecting with my fans through this song.”
Dressed in a beautiful white gown, Danielle knocks it out of the park, finding her confidence growing as the song crescendos.
