Wishing a speedy recovery to Dierks Bentley! The country star was injured while biking in Colorado.
According to iHeart Country’s Michael J, Dierks was expected to call into the show in the morning of June 25, however, the call had been delayed due to the fact that the country star had been in an accident.
I'm concerned about @DierksBentley! He was supposed to call in on my show this morning at 11:15 Est. Hearing now, he'll either be a half hour later or won't be able to call at all because he's had an accident!!! Stick with me and I'll let you know when I hear more! @WMZQ @WPOC pic.twitter.com/LpcwvQfJUk

A couple of hours later, Dierks, the consummate professional, actually made that station call after being released from the hospital.
Dierks told Michael J. that he messed up his left hand while mountain-biking in Colorado. He joked, “It’s my left hand. I hardly use the thing,” confirming that he drinks beer with his right hand, so he should be fine and it should be business as usual in about a month, but he’s also scheduled to find out if his hand will remain in a splint or if he’ll be in a cast for a bit.
Maybe some of our favorite country stars should consider parking their bikes or, at least, investing in adult training wheels. You might remember that Luke Bryan broke his clavicle in 2016 while riding his bike in East Tennessee for a Farm Tour stop. Of course, like Dierks, he made light of it and even went on to perform that night, but surgery was in order after.
Hopefully, Dierks’ injury won’t require surgery.
Broken clavicle. All good. Show is a go. I'll just have my arm in a sling.
