If you’re a fan of Dolly Parton (who isn’t, right?) and are also a fan of the Hallmark channel’s heartwarming holiday movies, get ready to have your worlds collide.
ET Online has just shared the news that the East Tennessee theme park will be the backdrop for the upcoming movie, Christmas at Dollywood.
Hallmark favorite Danica McKellar stars as a single mom and Broadway producer who, in an unfortunate turn of events, gets an unexpected opportunity to produce a show for the 20th anniversary of the Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival. Of course, a love story develops between Danica’s character, Rachel, and the park’s entertainment director, Luke.
“I grew up watching Dolly Parton with my grandmother. I love her,” Danica tells Entertainment Tonight. “She is everything. I got to meet her — she is charismatic and gorgeous and lovely and loving, and she’s the best person ever. I’m so excited that I get to work with her.”
Be on the lookout for Santa Claus…the real one…in the movie, but just as exciting is the confirmation that Dolly will definitely make an appearance in the film. Other special guests include Danica’s mother, Mahalia, and son, Draco.
Filming for Christmas at Dollywood kicks off in August and the movie is expected to be part of the networks holiday lineup which begins October 25.

In May, Danica revealed that she would be the voice narrating the documentary for Dolly’s Imagination Library, but she gave us no hint that she would also be playing another role with the country icon in the future.

Legend!! 😍 I got to meet Dolly Parton last month and it absolutely blew my mind. I was given the honor of narrating her upcoming documentary, and the producers SURPRISED me at the recording studio with a visit from Dolly herself!! I've loved her since I was a child, watching her on TV with my grandmother… and I know my Grammy is watching down on me, so excited about this. ❤❤❤ The documentary I'm narrating, "The Library that Dolly Built," chronicles her early life and the creation of her incredible literacy program, @imaginationlibrary. Visit them to find out more, and see my instastories for my experience meeting her, and omg her outfit was to die for!! . . . #grateful #legend @dollyparton #dollyparton #tennessee #ootd 😍
