In the world of country music, the philosophical question is often, “What would Dolly do?” And it appears the answer is, “Everything,” at least when it comes to the Grammy Awards rehearsals.
Aspiring young country artists often look to the successful and iconic Dolly Parton and her journey to mirror or to inspire their own path. And it looks like that trail has led her to her best life at this year’s Grammys.
In multiple posts on her Instagram page, the effervescent legend can be seen hanging out with a variety of entertainers from an array of formats. In the first photo, Dolly is pictured with hit songwriter, producer and “musical soulmate,” Linda Perry.
In another post, we see the petite blonde again with Linda, as well as Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves. She writes, “Love these powerful women.”
In a final photo, the dynamic Ms. Parton has found her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus, backstage and Miley’s jacket bears the famous face of her godmother. Dolly is beaming and writes, “How about this jacket!! I need one with extra rhinestones please!”

Pretty fun, right?
But it’s going to get even better! Dolly will be celebrated during Grammy week at the MusiCares Person of the Year tribute concert. Norah Jones, Pink, Mark Ronson, Chris Stapleton, Leon Bridges, Lauren Daigle, and Shawn Mendes with Miley are among those honoring the Queen of Country.

Oh, we aren’t finished. Then on the actual February 10 Grammy Awards broadcast, Dolly will once again be honored by Katy, Kacey, Maren Morris, and Little Big Town with a medley of hits before she herself takes the stage to perform music from the soundtrack of the Netflix movie, Dumplin’.
Later this year, Dolly will be recognized by the Grand Ole Opry for her 50th anniversary of membership. The east Tennessee native will perform at two sold-out shows on October 12 following a week of celebrating the singer, songwriter, author, actress, and philanthropist.
2019 it turning out to be the year of Dolly. (But isn’t every year?)
