Reese Witherspoon Raids Dolly Parton’s Closet and We Can’t Get Enough

Besides being known as a beloved movie actress who starred in such classic faves as “Legally Blonde,” “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Cruel Intentions,” Reese Witherspoon is also on the forefront of inspiring and supporting women with their life journey.

The 42-year-old mother-of-three has launched her own video on demand channel, Hello Sunshine, where she will focus on women who have created their own successful path. In her first unscripted series for the channel, Reese is airing “Shine On with Reese,” where she will celebrate the stories of extraordinary women, including P!nk, Kacey Musgraves and Dolly Parton.

“I had this idea to do a show about women that I love and admire,” Reese says in the trailer for the new show.

One woman that Reese, and the rest of the world, admires is country singer Dolly Parton, who has risen from poverty to become one of the most celebrated singer/songwriters and entertainers of all time. In the episode, Reese spends the day with the legendary Dolly and takes us through her extraordinary rise. Not only that, Reese gets inside Dolly’s closet, with all her stage garb, and we just can’t get enough.

Hello Sunshine, launched in November 2016 by Reese, is looking to produce engaging and distinctive new narratives with women at the center.

“I am thrilled to have such like-minded, creative collaborators at AT&T to help Hello Sunshine pursue our mission of elevating and showcasing the voices of women that we have such admiration and respect for,” said Reese. “I am so excited for the world to experience the stories from our partnership with AT&T, which are set to be equal parts entertaining, inspiring, thought-provoking and unabashedly real.”

Weekly episodes will include:

  • Dolly Parton (singer/songwriter)
  • Ava DuVernay (filmmaker/producer)
  • Pink (singer/songwriter/performer)
  • Cleo Wade (poet) and Elaine Welteroth (journalist)
  • Candace Nelson (Sprinkles founder) and Sara Blakely (Spanx founder)
  • Glennon Doyle (author/activist) and Abby Wambach (athlete/author)
  • America Ferrara (actress/activist)
  • Kacey Musgraves (singer/songwriter)
  • Simone Askew (First Captain, USMA at West Point) and cadets

“Shine On with Reese” can be viewed on DIRECTV, DIRECTV NOW and U-Verse via the Hello Sunshine VOD channel beginning Tuesday, July 17.
