Dustin Lynch celebrated a milestone moment in his career Tuesday night (Sept. 18) when he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
The “Small Town Boy” singer took the Opry stage to perform four of his hit singles and then got the surprise of a lifetime. Reba McEntire, Dustin’s crush and mentor, surprised Dustin for the induction.
“We’re paving the way like Minnie, Roy, Porter, and all the greats before us paved the way for us,” Reba said. “Congratulations and welcome to one of the best families in the world.”
“I told everybody before I came out here I’m a crybaby, and I get it from my dad.” Thanking his friends, family, bandmates, and others who play a part in her career for sharing his dreams, he concluded, “This is one of those dreams right now. … Thank you for allowing us to live the dream.”
Dustin was invited to join the Opry in August 2018 by Trace Adkins. He made his Opry debut on March 2, 2012 and 6 years later the Tennessee native is officially a member.
