Florida Georgia Line have released the music video to their latest single, “Simple,” and the sweet love story transports viewers back in time. The four-minute video was shot at Nashville’s historic plantation house Travellers Rest and begins with a young boy walking into the home with a giant light bulb in his hands.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, bring that over here,” his grandfather tells him. “What are you doing with this? You don’t need to be rummaging around in that old barn out there. I’m going to tell you guys a story about your grandmom and I.”

The video then flashes back to a fancy backyard party where their grandfather meets their grandmother and follows them throughout one magical evening together. Directed by Justin Clough, the clip shows the budding relationship of the young boy’s grandparents including how the grandfather surprised his future wife when he lit up a field with many of those very light bulbs his grandson was holding.

“’Simple’ felt just right to start our next chapter and I’m so proud of this video,” FGL’s Tyler Hubbard shares in a statement. “The ease in this song, this storyline, it’s all so reflective of where we are right now in our own lives…enjoying the little – and simple – things.”

Bandmate Brian Kelley further explains that Florida Georgia Line decided to go back to the basics with the song.

“With this feel-good tune, we’re going back to basics…the stripped-down roots. We’re so excited that fans are vibing with its simple nature,” Brian adds.

Brian and Tyler penned “Simple” along with Michael Hardy and Mark Holman. It is the lead single off their forthcoming album, expected to be released in early 2019. In addition to their new music video, the country duo are gearing up for their inaugural FGL Fest. Tickets for the outdoor festival, which will be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sept. 8, go on sale July 6 at 10 a.m. ET at Ticketmaster.com.
