Remember about a year ago when Garth Brooks came back into all of our lives? Garth didn’t just get back on the stage and release a new album, he also embraced technology and social media. He’s been a wild man on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook over the last 12 months, even signing tweets, “love, g.” (Kind of like how your dad signs his text messages to you.)
Well, now Garth’s full-on love affair with technology has recoiled– just a little.
In a recent Facebook post Garth explained to fans why he has been a little absentee. Classic dad move– his cell phone broke. But, this isn’t just any old cell phone. This phone had music on it. Music from the best-selling solo album artist of all-time (according to the Recording Industry Association of America).
“Here’s where the old guy gets into technology, which is bad,” he explained in an interview with Journal Sentinel. “All the new stuff which I’ve been working on for six months was on a phone that’s been fried, and I can’t get the phone to come back up. . . It’s like losing your briefcase back in the Nineties!”
The country music legend not only lost 6 months worth of new recordings, but also some Christmas collaborations with wife Trisha Yearwood.
