Yes, Strait fans, the King of Country Music is releasing a limited-edition reissue of the boxed set—that’s 4 actual CDs, y’all—that puts the biggest hits of the first part of his career into one spot. The collection represents George’s career from 1976 to 1995 and includes lesser know tunes like “I Just Can’t Go On Dying Like This” and “That Don’t Change the Way I Feel About You” to more commonly known hits such as “The Fireman, “Ocean Front Property,” “Amarillo By Morning” and his 1981 breakout hit, “Unwound.”

Strait Out of the Box will be available exclusively at Walmart starting September 13, however, it is available for pre-order starting today.

Hold your horses, now, we aren’t done. In addition to the limited edition box set, Strait Out of the Box: Part 1 and Strait Out of the Box: Part 2 are available to stream starting right now, and the George Strait collection of music videos has just been remastered in HD and is on YouTube for your viewing pleasure.

Still not finished.

George is also part of the soundtrack for Ken Burns’ PBS documentary, Country Music — a Film by Ken Burns, starting September 13. And, of course, the man in the hat still has a handful of shows scheduled this year in Fort Worth and Las Vegas, and early next year in Wichita and Kansas City.

So much for retirement!
