In honor of what would have been their father’s 82nd birthday, Ashley and Shannon Campbell played an intimate concert for the residents of Abe’s Garden, an Alzheimer’s and Memory Care Center in Nashville where Glen Campbell spent his final days. There is something special about family performing a song, even more so when it is a tribute such as this.
The duo played a notable version of Campbell’s 1971 hit “Gentle on My Mind” as both a tribute to their late father and a treat for the residents. Both Shannon and Ashley inherited their father’s musical talent and breathed new life into the well-known hit. It takes on a more folksy feel with Ashley’s banjo, but it is a welcome addition.
