Jana Kramer is not one to hide the truth. In her new single “Beautiful Lies,” she explores the pain of her husband’s infidelity—no matter how difficult.

Although Jana and her husband, Mike Caussin, divorced in 2016 after the truth of his affair came out, the couple renewed their vows in late 2017— and they’ve not shied away from telling their story in hopes of helping other couples with the same issues.

“Jana kind of gave me an ultimatum when everything came out, and she discovered everything. She looked at me and said, ‘You need to go somewhere. Basically, you need to figure out what’s going on and what this is, or I’m gone, period,'” Mike Caussin said during an episode of his wife’s podcast, Whine Down with Jana Kramer.

Mike then sought treatment for his sex addiction as he went to an in-patient facility in Nashville for 60 days.

“I’ve been in a 12-step program of sex addiction,” Mike admitted. “It’s weird to say. All my friends and family knew. So ever since then I’ve been a part of that program in the 12-step program. It hasn’t been perfect.”

As for Jana’s new song, she says it’s all about not wanting to believe the truth.

“This song is all about that moment when I didn’t want to believe what I was hearing,” she shared. “That moment when even though there were already so many lies – what I would give to be told beautiful lies so the truth wouldn’t hurt so bad.”

This upcoming new album is not the only thing Jana has to look forward to with her career. Jana and her husband are going on a road trip as they take the podcast on the road for a limited-run tour, Whine Down with Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin. The podcast features the couple being brutally and refreshingly honest about the troubles of marriage.
