Newcomer Jimmie Allen is gearing up for the release of his new video for his debut single “Best Shot,” from his self-titled EP. But first, the Delaware native is giving One Country an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video.

“Given that ‘Best Shot’ is such a personal song to me, we wanted the music video to have a similar feel so we incorporated old family photos and other personal elements throughout,” Jimmie tells One Country. My family has always encouraged me to keep trying and keep climbing (the song itself was inspired by a piece of advice my grandma gave me) so it meant a lot to include them in it, tell our story and bring the song to life.”

While making videos can be hard work, Jimmie makes it look like he’s having the time of his life. Not afraid to let it all out on camera, he not only cuts up throughout the video, he can be seen trimming what he calls “a long nose hair” and making fun of his sister as she ‘”laughs like a hyena.”

We’re introduced to a young boy named Cam, who plays Jimmie as a young child. The concept of the video takes a walk back through Jimmie’s childhood. The video’s director, Ford Fairchild, explains how it all comes together.

“This is kind of the place where Jimmie appears and current life kind of come flooding in, Ford says. “Everything from leading up through is old house and all of the memories from his childhood and the photos and everything leads up to this moment.”

Don’t miss Jimmie’s video when it airs on “CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown” this weekend.

That’s a wrap!
