It’s been two years since America’s Got Talent judge Julianne Hough got married to the love of her life Brooks Laich. But it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for the couple, who have been dealing with their share of infertility struggles.

“I have nothing to be ashamed of,” Hough said in a new interview with Access about being willing to open up about the couple’s journey to have their first child. “I’m here to debunk beliefs that there’s something wrong with you or that you can’t do something, whatever that might be.”
Indeed, her honesty about her struggles is something that Hough hopes is ultimately helping other women who are going the exact same thing in their own personal lives.

“I think the more I’m open the more therapeutic it is for me to not suppress it and hide it, and the more I’m open the more it helps somebody else who sees themselves in me feel understood and heard,” she said in the revealing interview. “I think at the end of the day, that’s my whole mission, is just to feel so connected to myself that I’m not embarrassed or ashamed about anything and I’m as free as can be, and people can feel encouraged to have that same freedom.”
Julianne opened up in a recent interview with E! News about her diagnosis of endometriosis back in2008.
“The good thing is I found out that I had endometriosis when I did back in 2008 so I’ve been really lucky that I’m able to come across things that maybe could’ve been challenging in the future,” she said. “But now that I know, and that I’ve had conversations with my doctor, we’re good.”
