Kane Brown is a music machine. Just eight months ago, he released the 13-track, full-length album, Experiment, which produced two chart-topping singles—“Lose It” and “Good As You.” He has since put out a collaboration with Khalid, “Saturday Nights” and another with Marshmello called “One Thing Right.” Now Kane is releasing a brand new song from an unnamed project.
Kane first teased the new song, “Like a Rodeo,” earlier in July, but didn’t give much of a hint as to what the song was like. Now fans are getting a first listen and it sounds like the talented young singer has a new hit on his hands.
Lyrically, the song leans on the real-life up-and-down of any romantic relationship, likening it to a cowboy’s adrenaline filled eight-second ride on a bull or bronc. The slow rolling production gives the song a vibe that is at one time steamy and at another, filled with angst.
“Love is like a rodeo / trying to see how far we go / After one touch, became obsessed with the rush / Yeah, love is like a rodeo / I just wanna steal the show / We fight and we fall but we keep holding on / Love is like a rodeo, rodeo, rodeo, rodeo / Love is like a rodeo, rodeo, rodeo, rodeo,” he sings in the chorus.
No announcement has been made regarding a forthcoming album, and that could mean that, like many country stars, Kane may be experimenting with releasing songs instead of albums as digital music and streaming services grow in popularity in the format.
Listen for Kane to perform his new tune live as he spends the summer appearing at fairs and festivals as well as performing as the support act on Jason Aldean’s Ride All Night Tour.
