Kane Brown is showing his soft side on the heartfelt new track “Homesick” off his forthcoming sophomore album, Experiment. Made available ahead of the project’s Nov. 9 release, “Homesick” tells the tale of Kane living out his dreams on the road while missing his girl back home in Nashville.
“I’m homesick / This feeling that I’m feeling, no it don’t quit / It’s like half of me is missing / Heaven knows it / That all I wanna do is be alone with / Your brown eyes, just tangled up and holding / Only you tonight until the morning / Baby, that’s the damn truth / If home is where the heart is, I’m homesick for you,” Brown sings in the chorus.
The memorable ballad has Kane reminiscing of his happy times dancing in the kitchen with fiancée Katelyn Jae and relaxing on their porch swing. With hand clapped rhythms, fiddle accompaniment and Kane’s smooth vocals, the singer shows a more vulnerable and surprisingly traditional side to his catalog.
“Homesick” is just one of several new tracks Kane has dropped ahead of his album’s release. Penned by the singer with Brock Berryhill, Matthew McGinn and Taylor Phillips, “Homesick” follows the release of lead single, “Lose It,” and the feel-good ode to the end of the work week, “Weekend.”
Kane recently revealed the track listing and album artwork to his new album as well as announced his upcoming 2019 tour. Titled the Kane Brown: Live Forever Tour, the trek will kick off in Duluth, Ga., on Jan. 10. The singer will bring along support acts Granger Smith, RaeLynn, Danielle Bradbery, and Jimmie Allen on select dates.
