Kane Brown doesn’t typically do things or make announcements with a lot of pomp and ceremony. He’s much more chill than all of that. So, it should come as no surprise that he spilled the beans about the gender of his unborn child on the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards.
According to People, Kane and his gorgeous wife, Katelyn, stopped on the red carpet to chat with Andy Lassiter from The Ellen Degeneres Show when he casually shared, “We’re having a baby girl.”
The Billboard Music Award nominee did go on to assure everyone, “I’m prepared. I’m not going to let the baby go. I’m going to hold on to her the whole time. I might be carrying the baby down the carpet with me next.”
Kane and Katelyn broke the news that they are expecting on Instagram, but haven’t shared as much about her pregnancy or due date, although Katelyn shared a pretty endearing video of herself getting the baby’s first sonogram.
In the post, she wrote, “The coolest day of my life by far. I barely could stop laughing / crying to let her get pictures but I am soooooo happy and excited. @kanebrown_music I love you so much & am so excited to have an addition to our family to share our everyday fun, travel , & love with.”
The couple is joining a pretty incredible group of country couples who are also expecting little ones in the next year. The parental possé includes Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and wife Hayley, Randy Houser and wife Tatiana, hit songwriter Dallas Davidson and wife Natalia, Chris Stapleton and wife Morgane, A Thousand Horses Michael Hobby and wife Caroline, and Brett Young and wife Taylor.
