Since the August 23 release of Taylor Swift’s new album, Lover, it seems that a lot of music enthusiasts have been listening, discussing, studying and enjoying the 18-track collection. Keith Urban is among those music fans, only he has gone a step further to recreate the title track for his live show.
On his Instagram page, Keith shared a video clip from his show at the Washington State Fair and explained, “Every now and then you hear a song that you love and wish you’d written…and a huge thx to my band as well – we didn’t get to rehearse so…this is us fully winging it – KU #Lover @taylorswift.”
Keith’s impromptu cover of the future hit didn’t go unnoticed by Taylor who already has a Top 10 in the U.S. with “Lover.” She tweeted the clip out to her followers and said, “My heart exploded into confetti hearts. Thank you.”

This isn’t the first time the country entertainer has covered a favorite song by another artist. He performed Foy Vance’s “Burden” on the ACM Awards, but in his live shows, he has covered REO Speedwagon, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and, of course, 90s country favorites like John Michael Montgomery.

For those of us who love both of these artists are now questioning if there’s a possibility that the pair will perform the song on any upcoming award shows.
