Sure, it’s winter in Pennsylvania, but it wasn’t quite as cold as you would expect it to be when the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins took the ice outdoors at Lincoln Financial on February 23 as part of the NHL’s Stadium Series. And things got even toastier when Keith Urban brought pyro to his performance at the unique event.

Keith took the stage between the first and second periods of the hockey game, which was televised on NBC, and while rehearsal temps required him to bundle up, he was in a t-shirt for the actual show. And yes, he really did bring pyro as video reflects, but the stage was positioned far enough away from the ice to ensure no meltdowns took place.

The Urban family is strong supporters of Nashville’s NHL Team, the Predators, so it’s uncertain if the Aussie was rooting for one of the teams over another, but if he was pulling for Philly, he walked away a happy man. The Flyers edged out the Penguins in overtime, 4 to 3.

The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year and four-time GRAMMY Award winner is heading to Europe in a few days as the “Graffiti U World Tour” continues. It kicks off on March 3 in Berlin, but stops are also planned for Amsterdam, London, Glasgow, and Dublin as part of the C2C Festival.  His shows there are his first in Europe in nearly a decade. He then returns to the United States just in time for fair and festival season.
