Following the success of his recent No. 1 hit “Coming Home” with Julia Michaels, Keith Urban continues to embrace summer with his feel-good new single, “Never Comin Down.” Featured on his latest album, Graffiti U, Keith penned the song with Josh Kerr, James Abrahart and Shy Carter.
On the track, Keith sings of the magic a couple feels once the sun sets. Whether they’re watching live music or are simply by themselves downing drinks, the rest of the world fades away. Slick beats and forward-thinking production make “Never Comin Down” an instant earworm.
“When the sun goes down, stars come out / It’s a…. Can you feel it? / When I take you by the hand, dancin’ / And we pass it around, ‘round, ‘round / We’re so high, we could paint the sky /
Tear the top right off the ceilin’ / And I swear we’re never ever comin down / Never comin down / Tell me now, can you feel it? / Never ever, never comin down,” he sings on the chorus.
A more musically adventurous song from Keith, on “Never Comin Down” the singer asserts his ability at straddling genre lines. Country fans can witness Keith perform the track live throughout his current Graffiti U World Tour featuring Kelsea Ballerini.
Recently, Keith celebrated another chart topper in Nashville with Carrie Underwood. Both singers were on hand as their single, “The Fighter,” was honored by the country community at a No. 1 party.
“I need to give a huge thank you to my wife for inspiring this song. It was so easy to write because it was born of a real conversation that we had had before we got married and me trying to reassure my wife that I was a good bet,” Keith laughed. “That I was a safe place and that I would take care of her and she could remain vulnerable and precious and that I would try and keep the world away from her so that she didn’t have to be hardened.”
