Kellie Pickler was such a hit in the Hallmark movie Christmas at Graceland, that the singer/talk show host is reprising her role as Laurel in the upcoming sequel, Wedding at Graceland.
USA Today reports that the new movie will be filmed in Memphis in April at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in the Woods, on Elvis’ property and along with Kellie, Wes Brown will return as Clay.
The plot summary for the original Christmas hit is as follows: A Chicago-based business executive travels to Memphis to secure one of the city’s oldest family-owned banks. While in Memphis, Laurel reunites with an old flame Clay, a local music promoter with loftier aspirations.
Apparently, their reuniting is leading the way to a wedding. Pam Slay, Hallmark’s senior vice president for network program publicity, tells USA Today that Wedding at Graceland will be the centerpiece of the Hallmark Channel’s “‘June Weddings’ franchise” of original summer movies built to match Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas ratings winner.
In addition, the site reports that Kellie will return for a third Graceland Hallmark movie set for December. The third installment is yet to be titled.
It’s no wonder they channel is banking on Kellie and Wes, the first installment, Christmas at Graceland was the No. 1 Hallmark movie of the past year. With that in mind, we wouldn’t be surprised if there is a baby at Graceland coming soon.
If you want to catch “Christmas at Graceland,” it will be airing at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, on Hallmark.
