Since Kelsea Ballerini stormed onto the country music scene earlier this year I’ve long said she’s the little sister Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood could have had if they were related.

Kelsea’s got the songwriting chops and fun, glass-is-too-full attitude of Taylor, mixed with Carrie’s vocals and humility. (And they all three have to coordinate leg workout routines somehow.)

During a recent show, Kelsea got her Carrie Underwood on and performed the 2009 hit, “Cowboy Casanova.” It goes without saying that Carrie is in a vocal class all her own, but Kelsea does a really good job on this tune. Most people are scared to even karaoke a Carrie Underwood song.

Kelsea and Carrie are both nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year and will be performing at the 49th Annual CMA Awards on Nov 4.
