2018 is turning out to be quite a year for Loretta Lynn. Not only is the legendary singer set to release her new album, Wouldn’t It Be Great, on Sept. 28 but she is now being honored with the “Artist of a Lifetime” Award at CMT’s Artists of the Year celebration.

“I’m always so proud when I receive any awards for my music, but when I heard it was this year’s “Artist of a Lifetime” award it made me really happy,” Loretta said in a statement. “It’s an honor to be able to make music that people enjoy and I’m really excited to have a new album coming out. Thank you CMT for acknowledging me with this award and for honoring the women in country music at Artists of the Year.”

Oscar winner and star of “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” Sissy Spacek, will present the award to Loretta during the ceremony on October 17 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.

For the first time, CMT Artists of the year will honor all female artists. The honorees include Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott.

Past recipients of the “Artist of a Lifetime” award include, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, and Merle Haggard.
