Loretta Lynn will release her new album, Wouldn’t It Be Great, on Friday (Sept. 28) and ahead of the project’s reveal she has made a new music video available. The touching ballad, “Ain’t No Time To Go,” finds Loretta begging a loved one to stay on earth with her a little bit longer.
“Spring is just around the bend / Ain’t no time to go, darlin’ / Fields need plowin’ and the fences mend / Ain’t no time to go, darlin’ / Stay with me a little bit longer / Stay with me if you can / Stay with me a little bit longer / Ain’t no time to go, darlin,” she sings on the song’s opening verse.
The music video was directed by David McClister and filmed this past summer at Loretta’s ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. It includes a band that features her son Ernest Lynn on guitar as they play in a dance hall as well as on the stoop of Loretta’s home as she sings the song.
“I been here all along and I ain’t going nowhere. I ain’t,” Loretta says of the song.
Loretta, 86, penned “Ain’t No Time To Go” with her daughter, Patsy Lynn Russell. Patsy co-produced Loretta’s upcoming project with John Carter Cash at the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tenn. Following the album’s release, Loretta will be honored at the 2018 CMT Artists of the Year event in Nashville with the “Artist of a Lifetime” Award.
“I’m always so proud when I receive any awards for my music, but when I heard it was this year’s Artist of a Lifetime award it made me really happy,” Loretta said in a statement. “It’s an honor to be able to make music that people enjoy and I’m really excited to have a new album coming out. Thank you CMT for acknowledging me with this award and for honoring the women in country music at Artists of the Year.”
