Luke Bryan knows that when you have an audience of millions watching you on “American Idol,” you use that time to your advantage. The Georgia native chose to drop his brand new single, “Sunrise, Sunset, Sunburn” during the finale.

The song, written by Zach Crowell, Ryan Hurd and Chase McGill, is the follow up to Luke’s No. 1 hit “Most People are Good,” features on his album What Makes You Country.

Luke kicked off his performance dropping the new song in front of the “American Idol” crowd, singing, “Sunrise, sunburn, sunset, repeat / Moonlight, all night, crashing into me / Nothing will ever be easy / as you and me / Tangled up with nowhere to be / Just sunrise, sunburn, sunset, repeat / Sunrise, sunburn, sunset, repeat.”

“Finally I get to sing for you guys.” Luke told the crowd before introducing eliminated contestant, Gabby Barrett to sing with him. Gabby kicked off Luke’s latest No. 1 hit, “Most People Are Good.”

The blended vocals of the the two singers gave a new twist to Luke’s song. Even though Gabby was eliminated from the show, she went out with a bang.

Now that “Idol” is over, Luke will hit the road for his What Makes You Country Tour kicking off May 31 in Toronto.

“I’m excited to kick this summer tour off and get back in front of the fans,” said Luke. “To think about the opportunity to also include 13 stadiums is unreal!  This line up is going to have so much energy. Can’t wait!”
