Luke Combs was celebrated on Aug. 13 in Nashville at an industry gathering that included his co-writers, label and management team, and friends. The “She Got the Best of Me” singer was honored with several plaques recognizing his platinum selling singles and the success of his debut album, This One’s For You, which is currently the most streamed country album of 2018 achieving more than 1 billion streams.
The event, held at Green Brier Distillery, recognized the success of Luke’s three No. 1 singles. Debut single “Hurricane” has been certified 3x Platinum while its follow-up, “When It Rains It Pours” was certified 2x Platinum. Meanwhile, “One Number Away” was certified Platinum while album track “Beautiful Crazy” was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Following a series of speeches from his team, Luke took the podium to thank those in attendance for their support.
“A year-and-a-half ago, we weren’t supposed to be in here and here we are celebrating an album that we worked toward — that we wrote songs, or produced, or engineered or whatever it may be in any capacity,” the singer told the audience. “We f—in’ did it together, not me. We all did it together. I just want you guys to know if you’re here tonight, you’re here for a reason and that’s because I love you and I appreciate you and everything that you’ve allowed me and this team to do together. I love you guys. This is as much for you, probably more so for you than it is for me, and I love you guys.”
Party-goers enjoyed sliders with the singer’s name and album title pressed on the bun as well as sipped on Luke Combs-inspired drinks in whiskey tumblers with his name emblazoned on the glass. Luke’s current single, “She Got the Best of Me,” is featured on the deluxe edition of his debut album, This One’s for You Too.
