Luke Combs recently joined forces with Texas soul singer Leon Bridges for the latest episode of “CMT Crossroads.” While their collaboration premieres on June 28, country fans can get a sneak peak of the hour-long special thanks to a new clip from CMT.
Luke invited country fans in town for the 2018 CMA Music Festival to Lower Broadway for the taping of the concert special. A stage was setup amid the many honky tonks on Broadway where Luke and Leon alternated between singing their hit songs.
During a performance of Luke’s previous chart topper “When It Rains It Pours,” the two singers traded lines from the infectious hit while harmonizing on the chorus. When Luke sang his part, Leon could be seen dancing along to the track. Dressed in overalls and a polka dot top, Leon was a natural on stage beside the country singer. The “CMT Crossroads: Leon Bridges and Luke Combs” special will air on June 28 at 10/9c on CMT.
This is far from the first time Leon has teamed up with another country artist. The singer previously collaborated with Kacey Musgraves on her 2016 holiday album, A Very Kacey Christmas, for the stunning duet “Present Without a Bow.” Additionally, he has worked with country music’s famous backing band the Texas Gentlemen. Earlier this year, Leon released his sophomore album, Good Thing.
Luke, meanwhile, has had a busy year of his own. Earlier this month he released the deluxe edition of his debut album. Titled, This One’s For You Too, the project has five additional songs, including new single “She Got the Best of Me.” The country singer recently returned to the road following a brief break where he was forced to cancel several tour dates after being placed on vocal rest. He’s set to perform as part of PBS’s “A Capitol Fourth” special live from Washington, D.C. on July 4.
