“Pretty Bitchin’” is the fifth song that fans can hear from Wildcard which finds Miranda working with popular producer Jay Joyce. Written with Luke Dick, Natalie Hemby and Jon Randall, the title might suggest something sassy and raucous, but “Pretty Bitchin’” has a rolling, groovy arrangement that supports a lyric with a simple message of gratitude, no matter what your life looks like. In fact, in the second verse, Miranda gets personal with the lyric:
“Well, I’m a pretty hot mess, but hell I guess I’m pretty sure it’s a family tradition / I’ve got a pretty good time in the check-out line with the free press I’ve been getting/ It’s pretty bitchin’.”
And as the tune wraps up, she doesn’t forget to be grateful.
“I’ve had a good, good day, I’m in a good, good way, so I’d say, pretty much, I’m winnin’ / I’ve got a pretty good band, pretty damn good fans and this pretty good life I’m livin’ / It’s pretty bitchin’.”
