While the title may suggest it’s a song for the ladies, RaeLynn says her latest single “Queen’s Don’t” is for everyone and anyone who “knows their worth.”
“I think it’s for women and men,” RaeLynn tells One Country. “Because we all have a standard of what we should be able to achieve and what we should take. I’m really proud of that song. It is more of a state of mind, it’s just knowing your worth. That’s what I want people to get out of hearing this song—just knowing what you’re worthy of. Everybody’s worthy of the best of the best in this life.”
“Queen’s Don’t” is the first single from RaeLynn’s upcoming third studio album. It’s the follow-up to her fifth single, “Lonely Call,” released in 2017. Written by RaeLynn, the song focuses on knowing how you should be treated and being with the right people.
“Queens don’t hate, queens don’t fight / Queens don’t stay unless their king treats her right, oh / Every jewel on my crown, you better believe I earned it / Won’t keep people around that don’t believe I deserve it / No, queens ain’t fake / A queen’s gonna rule just the way she was made, oh / I ain’t ’bout to let nobody come and take me off this throne/ Some girls might, but queen’s don’t,” she sings in the chorus.
With the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements, where women are standing up for themselves, “Queen’s Don’t” can be an anthem.
“There’s all this just amazing stuff happening in the world right now, and everybody’s speaking their truth. This song was meant for this time,” said the 23-year-old. “This is what we need right now. Not even just that. I feel like anybody needs to hear it.”
