Rascal Flatts and Kirk Jay Deliver Exhilarating Performance of “Back to Life” on “The Voice” Finale

With three of the final four contestants on “The Voice’ leaning country, there was no shortage of country acts performing in the finale Tuesday night (Dec. 18). Rascal Flatts was one of many artists that took the stage during the final episode, joining Team Blake’s Kirk Jay on a rousing rendition of their current single, “Back to Life.”

Trading lines in the opening verses, Gary LeVox and Kirk Jay smoothly melded their voices together on the song’s chorus.

She puts that beat in my chest / Pounds like a drum, shakes me like thunder / Taking my hand, pulling me up when I’m going under / My dreams come alive when I wake up and look in her eyes / She brings me back to life / Yes, she does,” they sing.

At times, the guys had Kelly Clarkson up out of her seat dancing. Jennifer Hudson liked the performance so much, she reached over to hit Blake on the arm. Then the two ladies looked at each other with excitement for the collaboration. And although Kirk is on Team Blake, Kelly and Jennifer know talent when they see it.

While many thought that Kirk should have won season 15 of “The Voice,” he ended up coming in third place, behind Chris Kroeze and winner Chevel Shepherd. However, as Blake mentioned earlier in the show, win or lose, we will hear Kirk Jay’s voice on the radio.

Stay tuned.
