Rascal Flatts Hint at New Music Coming Later This Year

-

Rascal Flatts are in the midst of their 2018 Back To Us Tour but that’s not stopping the country trio from working on new music. In fact, the band could be releasing new tunes very soon according to an Instagram post from Jay DeMarcus.

Earlier this week, Jay shared a photo from the studio on his Instagram page. “New Flatts music, coming at ya soon!!! #workinglikeadog#newflattsmusic #flatts2018,” he captions the image.

While the bassist and producer didn’t reveal too much, a quick glimpse at his Instagram stories shows Jay in the studio with several people as he plays a snippet of a musical interlude. The new music will mark the first since Rascal Flatts’ 2017 release, Back To Us. Their tenth studio album, the project included their No. 1 hit “Yours If You Want It.” The song followed their previous chart topper, “I Like The Sound of That.”

Rascal Flatts are currently on the road with Dan + Shay and Carly Pearce as part of their headlining Back To Us Tour this summer. In June, the group gave a special invitation to students from School of Rock’s Cornelius, N.C. location to join them for a day on the road. The students were given a backstage pass while the trio were in Charlotte, N.C. and spent the day getting to know the band, rehearsing with them and performing on stage with Rascal Flatts later that night.

School of Rock is performance-based musical education and offers a wide variety of music lessons including guitar lessons, singing lessons and piano lessons. Throughout the day, students walked through the band’s stage setup and learned the role of each player before being invited to rehearse with the professionals for the encore later that night. “They were so good, I can’t believe how great they were,” Jay says in a video clip.
