Back in July, we shared the news that Reba McEntire had a new role in the animated film, Spies in Disguise, starring Will Smith as “Lance Sterling,” however, we didn’t have any details on what part our favorite fiery, feisty red-head would supply the voice for. It turns out, she has assumed a powerful position.

According to IMDB, Reba voices “Joy Jenkins,” and, from the sounds of the new trailer released, Joy is the head of the agency that employs Lance as a spy.

As in most spy flicks, especially those of an animated nature, a villain is set to wreak havoc and create chaos when an unlikely bond between Lance and Walter (voiced by Tom Holland), a scientist and inventor at the agency, make them a virtual super hero and trusty sidekick of a less conventional nature.

Obviously, the action and adventure of the storyline is tempered with generous helpings of humor and it’s likely that “sleepy, night night” will be the break-out quote from the movie, which is currently scheduled to be in theaters on Christmas Day.

Other familiar voices that fans may recognize include Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Ben Mendelsohn (Captain Marvel), Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy), Rashida Jones (Parks &Recreation), Masi Oka (Heroes) and DJ Khaled (Pitch Perfect 3).

Reba is an pro at voicing film characters. Previously, she gave Betsy the Cow a bit of Oklahoma twang in the animated adaptation of the children’s story Charlotte’s Web and she gave Dixie the Dog a bit of country flavor in The Fox and the Hound 2.
