As Reba is making the rounds to promote her hosting gig on the upcoming ACM Awards, she made an appearance on “The Rachel Ray Show” for a chat.

The two ladies got to talking about everything from her barrel racing days, the award show and her son, Shelby’s, race car driving career. Reba shared how nervous she was the first time she saw her son race.

“When I first went to the Daytona Speedway and he was racing at Daytona,” she said. “You know they drop that green flag and here they come racing around. I was sitting there filming him and all I could see was hit car and underneath the helmet was this little bitty baby face, it just broke my heart.”

The “Back To God” singer went on to reveal that she didn’t feel so well during the first race.

“So I went over and sat down, I was about to pass out. Carolyn my tour manager came over and said, ‘Are you alright?’ I said, ‘Oh my gosh, give me a second.’ Then I watched the rest of the race and it was alright.”

Good thing too, because there are many more races for mom to be in attendance for.

Reba will go on to host the 53rd ACM Awards on Sunday April 15 at 8 p.m. ET in Las Vegas.
