Sam Hunt went home a winner Sunday night (May 20) when he took home the trophy for Top Country Song at the Billboard Music Awards.

The 33-year-old accepted the award thanking his “Body Like a Backroad” co-writers Zach Crowell, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.

He went on to thank his wife of one year, Hannah Lee Fowler. “My wife. Thank you for being so selfless this year. Sacrificing so much for me and our future.”

Then the Georgia native turned his attention to the music elite and his fans saying, “To everybody in this room, y’all are shaping the culture in this country. It’s a big responsibility. To all of our fans we love you and appreciate you.”

Fellow country singers Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Maren Morris and Florida Georgia Line also took home Billboard Music Awards.

Sam recently released his first single in over year, “Downtown’s Dead” and reveled that he is not sure when an album will follow.

“I haven’t really found the next thing that I really want to turn into a project,” he tells Yahoo. “I just have a lot of songs that are scattered all over the place. It hasn’t come together in a way that would really make a great album. I just haven’t really found that inspiration yet.”

We’ll be waiting.
