Scotty McCreery and friends celebrated the No. 1 success of his latest single “Five More Minutes, at a party held at the CMA offices in Nashville. Scotty scored his first-ever No.1 single earlier this year.

“2018 is my favorite year ever!,” Scotty said. “Thank you to all the fans who bought the song, who streamed it, who requested it at radio and who come out to the shows – watching your reaction to ‘Five More Minutes’ recharges me each night on the road. You guys mean everything to me.”

That’s not all, the North Carolina was surprised with another milestone in his career—”Five More Minutes” was certified Platinum, for combined units of streams and sales in excess of 1 million. .

Can this year get any better?” said Scotty. “A couple of months ago ‘Five More Minutes’ becomes my first No. 1 hit, then Seasons Change debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. Now, I learn ‘Five More Minutes’ has been certified Platinum! The only thing that can top this is my upcoming wedding happening in a few weeks.”

Inspired by his paternal grandfather, Scotty wrote the song with Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell, soon after his grandfather passed away. “Five More Minutes” is featured on his current album Seasons Change, Scotty’s third studio album and first in five years.
