[Watch] Lindsay Ell Jams with Sugarland While Dressed as the Greenville Swamp Rabbit Mascot

-

Lindsay Ell is in the midst of the Still the Same Tour with Sugarland and has already proven herself as an expert at tour pranks. Over the weekend at a stop in Greenville, S.C., the “Criminal” singer decided it was time to have a little fun with the headliners.

“I have decided that for the encore, I am going to put on the Swamp Rabbit mascot costume,” Lindsay tells cameras backstage.

Lindsay followed through on her promise as she donned the costume of Stomper from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits much to the delight of Sugarland and fans in attendance at the show at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

“A few weeks in to the second half of the tour and the pranks have already begun! Please welcome to the stage @LindsayEll… err we mean Stomper of the Greenville @swamprabbits,” Sugarland caption the video on Instagram.

Despite the rather large costume, Lindsay still managed to grab her guitar and join in during a cover of Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” while on stage. Sugarland’s Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles can be seen laughing in surprise when they first spot Stomper.

“Put this on the internet as fast as possible,” Kristian says in a clip.

Sugarland launched their headlining tour on May 25. Their first tour since announcing their hiatus in 2012, the trek sees the beloved country duo traveling the country throughout 49 cities in North America this summer. Currently, Lindsay and Frankie Ballard serve as openers. Sugarland released Bigger, their first album together in eight years, in May.

“Our hopefulness and our sparkiness and our joy are things I think we do uniquely well, especially in the country format,” Jennifer previously said of the duo’s new material.
