Nashville was buzzing on April 25, and not just because of the NFL Draft, or the Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon, or the Jimmy Buffet concert, or any number of bachelorette parties woohoo-ing their way through downtown. In addition to all of those great events, Taylor Swift made a visit to Music City to share the big news that she was dropping a new single!
Of course, as we previously reported, Taylor first made a visit to a mural created especially for her, where she took a quick handful of pictures then spent a delicious amount of time visiting with her former Nashville neighbors, grabbing selfies and hugs and reminding us why we all fell in
love with her sweet personality.
Later in the evening, though, she sat with ABC’s Good Morning America co-host, Robin Roberts, and spilled the T about her single.
Looking as gorgeous as ever in a rainbow striped dress, Taylor told Robin that Brendon Urie from Panic! At the Disco would be joining her on the new single, titled “ME!” and that there would also be a companion video.
JUST IN: @taylorswift13 to @RobinRoberts on her new song that will be released at midnight: "'ME!' is a song about embracing your individuality and really celebrating it and owning it." https://t.co/RhLs6Gi1Xm #TaylorSwiftApril26 pic.twitter.com/K2vPqJuoQk

Always gracious, she also thanked the fans for caring about the music she makes, then thanked Robin for giving her a chance when she was just a girl of 14.
Taylor went on to give more details on “ME!” She said, “‘ME!’ is a song about embracing your individuality and celebrating it and owning it. With a pop song, we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads and I just want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves.”
The new video is filled with everything Taylor hinted at in her cryptic posts. It comes complete with hearts, flowers, pastel colors, butterflies and even her two cats, Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey. The video starts off with a snake heading towards the camera, referencing Taylor’s reputation album, when the snake suddenly bursts into beautiful butterflies.
That’s when the fun begins. Taylor and Brendan start off having a couple’s spat in French and as Taylor departs their home, she breaks into the uptempo tune.
“One of these things is not like the others / like a rainbow with all of the colors / baby doll when it comes to a lover / I promise that you’ll never find another like meee / Ohhhhh / I’m the only one of me / baby that’s the fun of meeee/ ohhh / you’re the only one of you / baby that’s the fun of you / and I promise that nobody’s gonna love you like meee,” Taylor sings.
While country music fans who speculated that the singer making a return to the format might be disappointed, it’s hard to not be excited about what this innovative entertainer has up her colorful sleeves.
