Taylor Swift’s Acoustic Performance of “Better Man” in Nashville Proves That Country Music Still Loves and Needs Her

-

I guess, at this point in my life, you could call me a Taylor Swift apologist. I’m not entirely sure of what that means, I just know that more often than not, I find myself telling people that Taylor Swift is a genius.

Most recently, Taylor showed up at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe, where Scott Borchetta first heard her and signed her to a publishing deal. While she was there, she sang a couple of tunes, told a couple of stories, but mostly she cemented the fact that no matter how far she’s traveled from Nashville and country music, she’s still very much a part of both.

last fall, Taylor Swift took home the trophy for CMA Song of the Year for “Better Man.” The tune was almost nominated for a couple of GRAMMYs, but technically Little Big Town won Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

Taylor also performed the tune for patrons at the Bluebird and her acoustic chops are just as raw and real as ever, proving what we’ve always known– she’s still country and we need an acoustic album from her.
