Taylor Swift made the announcement Tuesday morning (Oct. 2) on “Good Morning America” that she will be opening the American Music Awards with a performance of “I Did Something Bad.”
“Good morning, America, it’s Taylor,” she said in the video clip. “I just wanted to say I’m going to be opening up the American Music Awards with a performance.”
While millions of people are excited about this news, Taylor’s cat, Meredith, was less than thrilled. So much so, that in the midst of Taylor’s announcement, Meredith just got up and walked away.
“Don’t be too excited about it, my God,” Taylor said to her cat as she departed.
Taylor’s cats have become famous, appearing this T-Swizzle’s Instagram posts often. Her feline friends are named after television characters Olivia Benson from Law & Order SUV and Meredith Grey from Grey’s Anatomy.
Meredith may not care but we do. This will be Taylor’s first performance on an awards show in almost 3 years. The American Music Awards, where Taylor is nominated for Artist of the Year, will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on October 9 on ABC.
